"
I have always identified with the cello's highly emotional, singing nature; the soaring, hopeful melodies and the dark, wailing laments are my comfort zone with the instrument. I tend to gravitate to lyrical, melodic phrases.

That being said, I am also extremely open to experimentation and have come to enjoy bringing in new techniques and effects to my playing. There are few genres that I am not willing to wade into.

My classical training is a strong compliment to my curious nature, and most collaborators will find it refreshingly easy to work with me to bring their musical vision to life with the cello.

A Bit About Me
I am a classically trained cellist of 25+ years, having studied in the private studio of Ken Ishii and under Dr. Gary Hardie at Baylor University, while also taking masterclasses under cellists to include Dr. Christopher Haritatos and the late Dr. Phyllis Young. Mr. Ishii provided not only a sound technical foundation for my playing, but also exposed me to contemporary cello performance, which led me to begin exploring non-classical genres in high school and into college. During college I made a pivot from studying music performance to pursuing a career in the military and aerospace engineering, while continuing to perform with a number of symphonies, string ensembles, and individual artists across south and central Texas as well as Alabama. Today, I am ecstatic to be building new relationships with Dallas-Fort Worth musicians and serving a wonderful local community with a vibrant arts scene.
I am equally fond of performing in small classical chamber ensembles and on stage with progressive/alternative rock bands and songwriters. My passion for all forms of music shines through, and I am eager to collaborate with artists and audiences who are looking to create unique auditory and visual experiences.
